Touching on the Coronavirus

Good afternoon all. I hope all are well. With the chaos that is being reported on the subject, I have avoided touching on the Coronavirus, as I feel everyone is hearing enough about it from sources more qualified to speak on the subject.

However, as I sat at my desk reading the countless reports and articles, I was hit with the realization that so many are suffering from this illness in the same way. It does not matter where a person is from, their nationality, spoken language, religious beliefs or personal agendas. All are being affected the same.

This realization made me think of the state of the world we live in and the sad truth that each of these differences is what divides our world as we know it. Which prompted this post.

Too often people are persecuted for their beliefs, the language they speak, even the color of their skin. So many lose their concern for their neighbors based on the political party they do or don’t support and the type of car they have in their driveway.

Though none of these things has ever mattered to me, I hope the one take  away that comes from this pandemic is the fact that every person is a fragile being that deserves to be loved, who deserves compassion, that has worth not for whom they support or how much money they have in the bank, but because they are no less human than you or I solely because they think, speak, or look different than some societal norm. This is the time for us to be united. Not as a country, a political party, or a religion, but as a people. Human, flesh and bones people, who are suffering the same plight.

I send my condolences to all those who have lost loved ones. I send prayers of healing to all those who are sick. I send prayers of hope and strength to all who are watching and worrying. Most of all, I send love and well wishes to you all. No matter where you are from or who you are, I pray you are safe, healthy, and that we all come through this with the knowledge to make us better humans.
